Vector Space is a non-profit community makerspace. Our founders and staff are passionate about making, and teaching others to make. We believe the most rewarding things in life are hands-on experiences shared with others.
Vector Space is a makerspace and community workshop with the mission to build an open and collaborative community that fosters innovation, creativity, and the pursuit of science based knowledge.
We offer 24/7 access to users ages 18+, with enrollment open 3x per year. Members enjoy 23,000 square feet of shared workspace and equipment, a community of fellow makers, and discounts on classes.

For one week in July, Vector Space was turned into a full service, bike-hacking, pedal zone. With donated bikes from Bikes Unlimited, Scene 3, The Bike Shack at Lynchburg College, and L. Oppleman, we had frames, handlebars, and chains for days. The camp was lead by myself and my husband Adam as well as Jawansa and Michelline Hall, the dynamic duo behind Blackwater Branding.

We’re looking for five interns to help us out this summer. It’s an opportunity to do something different, gain experience in a variety of fields (machining, computer software and hardware, woodworking, electronics, graphic design, etc.), and work with a mentor with expertise in your field of interest.
While the internships are unpaid, each intern is provided a $200 budget for their project, courtesy of the Lynchburg Morning Rotary Club.
Internship begins on June 12th and ends on August 4th.

Mini Maker Faire Comes to Lynchburg
(Lynchburg) On Sunday, March 26th from 12:00pm to 4:30pm, Vector Space will present the Lynchburg Mini Maker Faire, the first maker faire in our area in partnership with the national movement started by and in collaboration with Make: magazine from Maker Media. This event will take place on the campus of Randolph College.
