Vehicle use

Eligibility to Drive a Vector Space Vehicle

Members require authorization to utilize a Vector Space owned vehicle including trailer usage. Authorization will require approval of the Executive Director or the Facilities Manager. Approval will be needed for each occasion for use.

Authorization will only be granted if all of the following circumstances are met:

1. Work being performed with the vehicle is for Vector Space
2. Member is not delinquent relative to any Vector Space policies
3. Must be 25 years of age or older
4. Must have a valid driver's license which is not suspended or revoked and maintains automobile insurance.

Once approval is granted member responsibilities:

• Must have their license in their possession when they are driving
• Driving the vehicle in a safe and proper manner
• Abide by all driving laws
• Wear a seat belt while vehicle is in motion
• Notify Vector Space of any vehicle accidents or violations will driving the vehicle
• Responsible for all traffic and parking violations they receive when using the Vector Space vehicle
• Not allowed to operate the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other medication that could impair the ability to drive safely
• Vector Space is responsible for vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Report any issues requiring a safe operation of the vehicle
• Must know and not exceed the weight restrictions for the vehicle or trailer
• Must assure proper securing of any loads being transported
• Must assure that trailer hookup is properly done with working tail lights prior to departure
