I am a life-long maker. I started making 'inventions' at the age of 6. I worked with my Dad, repairing bicycles, lawn mowers and motorcycles, and work with my machinist Grandfather during college summer vacations. I worked in the cabinet and millwork industry for 30 years. Holding a junior college teaching credential in woodworking, I taught woodworking at Cerritos College for several years. In my career, I set up, repaired, programmed and operated a variety of CNC routers and point-to-point machines. Optimal use of CNC machinery is a passion of mine.

For my second career, I became a licensed civil engineer, and worked for Mariposa County Department of Public Works. Upon retiring from there, we moved to Lynchburg, where I joined Vector Space (VS). I have enjoyed using the full complement of machinery at VS, learning the various user interfaces and machine control software. My primary areas of interest are metal working - blacksmithing, welding and machining; woodworking with hand power and CNC machinery; and 3D printing.

But teaching is my true passion. I love teaching members in blacksmithing and metal working, as well as helping members learn a new machine or process when I am at VS. In doing so, I hope to pass on my love for learning, doing and making.
