Description	Use Ambrosia Maple lumber to make a hollow bowl and incorporate design elements such as grooves, lip shapes, and more. This requires the turner to discuss the design concepts, think through how to achieve the finish product, turn two pieces and glue together, then finish turning and embellishing. We will use super glue to speed the process.
Required Knowledge	Basic lathe knowledge and prior turning experience is required.

Des is a retired engineer who has worked with wood most of this life and now creates one of a kind wooden bowls, boxes, coffee tables and other wooden items he is asked to make. He offers wood turning classes at Vector Space, is a member of the Central VA woodworkers guild, a member of the Virginia Artisans Trail and owns the Forest Splinters Threads business with his wife. His work can be seen at Goose Creek Studios in Bedford VA.
