Vehicular Work Policy

Members may under certain conditions bring vehicles to be worked on at the makerspace. The following guidelines apply to any vehicular work requiring more than 24 hours:

• A vehicle will include any item that transports people or machinery and is too large to reasonably fit inside the makerspace. Examples include but are not limited to: cars, trucks, buses, boats, tractors, and trailers. • Due to space constraints, tool requirements, limited infrastructure, and courtesy to other members, there may only ever be one vehicular project occurring at a time. • There is a specified parking spot for project vehicles: at 402 Fifth Street location this spot is at the back (grassy area) of the Fifth Street parking lot; at 2004 Memorial this spot is next to the loading dock, behind the welding shop (but vehicles and tools may not block the loading dock at any time). Vehicles being worked on and left overnight may not be parked in any other area. • This policy limits such work on a single vehicle to a maximum of three months per year. • Members will pay $100/month while their vehicle is parked at the makerspace to be worked on. • We understand that tools from the makerspace will be used to work on the vehicles, however tools must be returned to their designated area immediately after use and may never be left outside or in the vehicle overnight. • If the designated parking spot is being utilized and paid for within these guidelines, no other vehicles may be worked on at the makerspace until the previous project is complete. • A breach of any of the above guidelines will result in one warning, followed by revocation of the right to park a vehicle upon second offense.
