Description
In this workshop, you'll make a desktop pen holder using the milling machine and various hand tools. The purpose of this workshop is to provide a foundational and well rounded understanding of mill work, focusing primarily on the mill itself but also on the skills frequently needed for such work.
You will learn about tools (hss vs carbide), feeds and speeds, measurement tools (calipers, micrometer, dial indicator), milling, facing, drilling, edge finding, hand dials, reading DRO, and coolant.
Each class is 2.5 hours long, with half of that time spent actively using the mill and the other half spent working with hand tools.
