Vanessa grew up under her mother and grandmother's quilts. They always had a quilt up on a stand, hand quilting. At age 10 she had to "finish a row" on the quilt every week and by the time she was 12 she was making 4 queen size quilts per year, start to finish. Vanessa has made hundreds of quilts, and all but the 4 she made for her kids she has given away.
Through a series of mishaps and experimenting Vanessa ended up in the woodshop at Vector Space. In learning to make a cutting board she realized that cutting boards were just quilts, in wood! You'll find her at the laser when she isn't quilting with wood or fabric.
