Chelsea is a metal artist and Assistant Professor of Art at the Univeristy of Lynchburg. In her time during and since graduating with her MFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Chelsea Tinklenberg has been an adjunct professor at UNC Greensboro, while pursuing opportunities to show her work and participate in artist residencies.
Her process for creating art often begins rummaging through a junkyard. Chelsea's grandfather owned a salvage business in the central valley of California, so growing up she had a unique experience of discovering objects and questioning their function. A myriad of unlikely objects, each with their own history and purpose, poetically coexist in a junkyard. In selecting objects she hopes to bring a similar experience to the viewer in the gallery: one of delightful curiosity and discovery.
