Description

Using Inkscape and the laser cutter, participants will create their own two small (2-3") rubber stamps with wooden handles, customized with the text of their choice. Once the workshop is over, they may take their creation home to use (or give to a loved one).

During this process, the following skills will be taught:

• Introduction to graphic design basics in Inkscape
• Getting your design laser-ready
• Laser cutter safety and operation
• Engraving rubber
• Hand carving techniques
• Fashioning wooden stamp handles

Per COVID-19 safety requirements during all classes, we ask that participants, instructors, and members who are working in the space follow the safety guidelines outlined below:

• Please wear a mask over their mouth and nose while working indoors at Vector Space.
• Please maintain a safe distance of 6 feet from each other when possible. For safety and teaching purposes, it may be necessary for the instructor to be within 6ft of students at times.
