Registration is closed for this event
A week-long introduction to computer programming and robotics for rising 3rd through rising 8th grade students.

Details

Vector Space is excited to partner with Randolph College for their annual computer programming and robotics camp. This year students will spend time at both Randolph College and Vector Space. As always, the camp will be lead by Katrin Schenk, PhD and Associate Professor of Physics at Randolph College. Katrin will be assisted by a YMCA counselor and a Vector Space instructor.

TC3 Kids is a week-long introduction to computer programming and robotics for rising 3rd through rising 8th grade students. Kids will learn the basics of computer programming, computer science and robotics through fun, collaborative and creative activities. The goal is to enhance their critical thinking and problem-solving skills and to engage their interest in the relevance of technology in their future academic and career plans. Campers will also get some outside recreation to show the necessity for balance within our highly technical society.  No experience with computer programming or computer science is necessary!  All levels welcome!

New this year: campers will be spending 1-2 days at Vector Space exploring electronics, computers, and robotics at the makerspace. Vector Space is a makerspace and community workshop with the mission to build an open and collaborative community that fosters innovation, creativity, and the pursuit of science based knowledge.
