Ceramics Orientation

Bonnie Black is retired from her career as a Physical Therapist Assistant.  She loves learning new skills and has taken safety training in woodworking  and in the metal shop, as well as a workshop with the cnc router. You may  have seen her in the computer lab or the textile area recently as well, but her  experience is mostly in Ceramics. She learned to work with clay at the  College of Idaho where she received her BA in Psychology and Art as a  double major. Her love was always with sculpting and clay work but she has  a deep appreciation in all media and hopes to expand her other skills.  
Bonnie taught pottery at the Fine Arts Center and co-taught the Art camps prior to the merge with the Academy of Music to create the Academy of Fine  Arts. She was active with the first 5 Empty Bowl events at the Academy of  Fine Arts, making bowls for the event and helping in the kitchen during the day of the event. Bonnie was also an Art volunteer at Bedford Hills before there were Art teachers.  
Bonnie has a love of nature and is supporting pollinators by planting more Native plants on her property and limiting the invasive species. She also loves skiing with her two children.
